[Mother’s day bonus offering at end of post.]
In sports circles, the G.O.A.T. is an acronym to describe an athlete that is transcendent, suggesting that he or she is the Greatest Of All Time.
Well I discovered a product that is truly deserving of the title GOAT because it actually has goat, or rather goat milk, in the ingredients.
First a little background.
My daughter has always had problems with her skin, starting as an infant.
She would be constantly itching and scratching at her forearms and exposed legs to the point where we had to have her hands covered as she was often drawing blood.
It turns out that she has a pretty bad case of eczema.
As she got older, the skin problems persisted but she learned to control her impulses to scratch (even so, I would sometimes catch her in the act).
We tried topical steroid creams and even stronger, and quite expensive, prescription steroid based lotions on the suggestion of her dermatologist.
These products definitely helped some but you could see that her skin had gotten thinner/more fragile with the chronic topical steroid use and still had a scale like/cracked appearance.
I fortuitously stumbled upon an article describing the benefits of goat milk soap.
I discovered the company Bend Soap which specializes in a variety of goat milk based products, with their star product being soap.
I had never even heard of goat milk soap before this.
To be quite honest, I have never associated goats with cleanliness so I had serious doubts upon how effective a soap made from goat byproducts could be.
On their website they have a detailed scientific breakdown of why goat milk, along with the other ingredients (coconut oil, palm oil, and olive oil), is so beneficial for all types of skin issues, including eczema and psoriasis.
Because Bend soap products are all natural, there are no chemicals that are found in commercial soaps that can typically dry out and exacerbate the skin.
After spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, on previous treatments (I kid you not, but there was one bottle of lotion, probably 8 oz, that before insurance discount listed for over $1,000), I figured a $5 bar of soap was not going to break the bank and I took a leap of faith and placed an order.
Actually the deal seeker in me caused me to go a bit “all in” and buy 12 bars of soap to take advantage of two discounts that occurred when spending $50, 10% off and free shipping (I’m a sucker for discounts).
Now individual results may vary but I can only tell you from my personal experience that the effect of using goat milk soap was immediate on my daughter’s skin.
The very next day I could tell her legs had a shine to it I had never seen before and she also told me that she was completely relieved of all itching.
Not only did her skin look youthful and finally befitting of a 12 year old, but another amazing side effect from the soap was the confidence I now saw in my daughter.
She would never say it out loud, but I could tell she was self conscious on how various areas of her body had a dry aged look (particularly around the major joints and even her abdomen).
Since using this product I asked her if she needed to use the steroid creams or any other medication we had previously tried (she had been taking a tablespoon of liquid Zyrtec at night also at the recommendation of the dermatologist).
She shook her head no.
Apparently this goat milk bar soap has obviated the need for these additional measures (which again never achieved the results that my daughter had with just a few uses of this goat milk soap).
For what this product has done for my daughter, both looks wise and confidence wise, I have no problem saying that this is indeed the G.O.A.T.

Very interesting. I used to have several pet goats when I owned a farm. They are really delightful creatures. Only the males smell bad.
So it’s pretty much the same as humans. Lol. Thanks for stopping by
This is a fantastic story! I think we should skeptical of natural remedies, but also be willing to give them a chance if cost-effective. I do not like when people say that things like Essential Oils and such are a cure-all, but I do think they have their place and can be effective in certain situations. I have a friend who swears by emu oil on certain types of skin issues. It is exactly what it sounds like – the fat of the emu bird in oil form. My friend uses it on everything from warts to razor burn and… Read more »
Thank you Liz for the wonderful comment. I was completely skeptical as well of this when do many more expensive things didn’t work for my daughter.
It basically came to a point where I thought it is was it is and she would have to live with it.
I wrote this particular post about a month ago and am happy to say that nothing has changed in my opinion of it.
Thanks again for the wonderful comment.
My son had eczema as a child which went away after he was around 18, but nothing seemed to work, so I’m sure you’ll be helping many parents out there. Maybe a few doctors will try it for their patients, too. I wonder if the goat milk products are good for old goats like me? Might be worth checking out. I’m also a sucker for free shipping and a discount lol. I also wonder if the goat in the above picture made it to the next rock – that angle doesn’t look favorable. @hatton1md, we keep miniature goats. The kids… Read more »
That’s great that your son’s skin condition improved when he turned 18. I’m not sure I could medically explain how that happened but some things science can’t explain.
It is hilarious but no matter what my net worth is I definitely am a sucker for discounts. Lord knows how many extra minutes I wasted going down the aisles searching for a free item in a grocery store which if you think about it time cost would have outweighed the money saved every time (but I still do it because I think I am a bargain hunter at my core).
I went ahead and got some, a doctor said it works right!. Goats have always been on my short list for post apocalyptic and/or desert island scenarios. Fascinating, hardy little creatures.
LOL. Yes goats are quite fascinating, though I prefer Lamb in terms of cuisine (my take on Mary Had A Little Lamb is a bit different from most) :).
Well I hope it does wonders for you OthalaFehu. It made a night and day difference for my daughter and I still am amazed.
Thanks for the comment and stopping by 🙂
Goat milk? Lol oh boy…. had no idea. I’m usually a skeptic, but you’ve definitely earned credibility. Thanks so much, I might have to check this out. Cheers, Doc!
Lol. I was literally grasping at straws before found this. Maybe I should have first started out with the animal that eats it. Lol.
As a pediatrician, I see eczema in children daily. I often have parents moisturize daily and use steroid ointments for flare ups. I think I’m going to recommend goat milk soap and I will give you an update. Cheers
Thanks volunteer pediatrician. That would make my day if other kids can benefit like my daughter did. Definitely keep me updated as I would love to hear if they share similar results. Thanks!
